泰州市集报协会周正金会长参观过武泽村“陈中柱事迹展览馆”，知道陈中柱当年办过《新群报》。我告诉周会长，我们多次到当年四纵队驻扎过的茅山伍张庄、南朱庄和沈阳庄调查采访，试图在民间发现这份报纸，哪怕不完整只有半张，也是展览馆的镇馆之宝。言下之意，我们请周会长留意发现《新群报》的收藏者。</span></p><p style="line-height: 35px;text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: 宋体;color: #000000;font-size: 18px;"> 南宋诗人夏元鼎的“踏破铁鞋无觅处，得来全不费工夫”的两句诗意应验了我们的愿望。3月22日下午，周会长微信发来《新群报》影印件图，我高兴得想立即驱车去泰州。周会长说，收藏者是高邮市收藏家协会的朱军华会长而非他。我把报纸影印件发给远在澳大利亚的陈将军女儿陈璞，她立即回信息说：“真想不到今生能见到《新群报》的真面目。谢谢了！记得大约是在1940年，我曾随父亲在泰州参观过新苏中学和新群报社。随行人员有段公干，我妈妈还在学校的座位上坐过，至今仍有印象。回国后，我定会去的。”</span></p><p style="line-height: 35px;text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: 宋体;color: #000000;font-size: 18px;"> 第二天，我和我的学生周信学一行四人驱车至高邮，拜会了朱军华会长。原来，朱会长早在十年前就收藏到这份报纸。他以增加民国报种类收藏至今。听了我的介绍后，才知道了这份报纸的价值，并表示，如将军女儿回来，愿带这份报纸让她老人家看看。<br/></span></p><p style="text-align: center;"></p><p style="text-align: center;"></p><p 建陈中柱事迹展览馆时，我查阅了大量的陈中柱史料，了解了一点在极艰苦的游击战争环境中，陈将军重视抗日思想宣传，创办《新群报》的经过。当时陈中柱自己兼任报社社长，报头也是他题写的，并聘请文化人孙挺宇为主笔。报纸为四开四版的日报，一版为国内外动态，二版为地方要闻，三四版为时事综述及社论等。现在高邮朱会长收藏的这份报纸印证了这一点。报纸编辑及正常运行由孙公任、沈芷痕两个进步文化人负责。报纸第一期，陈中柱将《新四军军歌》改为四纵队队歌登在报纸上。<br/></span></p><p 其实，在办《新群报》之前，陈中柱就办起了前锋剧团和新苏中学。将军女儿微信中提到她妈妈和段公干，段是四纵队政训室的，当时还有一个叫陈九成的人，和段公干一起组建了前锋剧团。将军夫人王志芳爱唱爱跳且有一副好嗓子，经常随团下部队或学校为官兵、学生们唱歌。办《新群报》就没那么容易了，首要条件必须要有印刷厂。1995年，曾在《新群报》工作过的沈芷痕老人，以“陈中柱与《新群报》”为题，在台北市《盐城月刊》上著文，介绍了《新群报》诞生的经过：陈中柱是位儒将，重视抗日宣传和文化事业，一直想办份报纸，只因印刷条件不具备，迟迟未能实现夙愿。约在1940年9月间，原国民党江苏省政府所属文化印刷所，有一套印刷设备于战乱中从东台运至泰县，由于原有关系中断，经理杨贯之正愁经费无着落。陈中柱获悉后，即与四纵队政治部宣传科长至江都防区进城洽谈，商定由四纵队贷款，先行补发拖欠印刷工人的工资，继之又为其觅定了印刷所的房屋，使其恢复运转。条件是印刷承接零星印件外，须承担《新群报》的独家印刷。至此，该所实际上已成为《新群报》的印刷厂了。有了印刷条件，经过二十多天的筹备，《新群报》于1940年10月1日在泰县创刊，社址为泰县东街教育局旧址。<br/></span></p><p
