南宋咸淳十年（1274年）九月，二十万元军由丞相伯颜统领，分两路进攻南宋。各地宋军将官在元军铁骑压境时纷纷叛变，南宋兵败如山倒。京师震动之际，理宗之妻谢道清下《哀痛诏》求救。各地将官却大多观望不前，唯有文天祥和张世杰两人召集兵马，起兵勤王。德祐二年（1276年），太皇太后命文天祥为右丞相兼枢密使，收拾残局。文天祥见事已至此，不可推辞。在出使元军时，文天祥正气凛然，不屈不挠，遭到元军督帅伯颜扣押。太皇太后失去文天祥，无人可依，向元人投降。此时元军准备将文天祥押送到北方去。</span></p><p 农历二月二十九日，文天祥在京口（今镇江）带领随从杜浒等十一人脱逃。三月初一渡江来到真州（今仪征），当时扬州守将是南宋淮东制置使兼扬州知府李庭芝，听信谣言说文天祥是到真州说降的，命令真州守将苗再成杀死文天祥，苗再成“知公忠义不忍杀”把文天祥遣送出境。初三晚上，文天祥一行来到扬州城下，听到守城士兵纷纷议论:“制置使下令搜捕文天祥甚急”，他进退两难，无可奈何。初四日，文天祥一行途中又遇络绎不绝开拔的元兵，“伏城西荒山破屋中”，于是化名刘洙，向高邮方向逃去。初五晚，夜色茫茫，迷失了道路，半道上元军忽至，一行人又躲入灌木丛中，就这样疲惫不堪的文天祥跌倒了又爬起来，咬着牙艰难前行。初六晚，遇上一群樵夫，得到他们的热情相助，樵夫们用一个箩筐，让文天祥坐在里面，由六个人轮流抬着走，至三月初七日天明，文天祥一行历尽艰险到达高邮城外，但高邮守军也收到李庭芝文书，严防文天祥进城。文天祥只好放弃进城的念头，急忙又买了一条小船向泰州方向逃去。</span></p></section><section 三月七日晚，文天祥一行来到一个水寨，名叫稽家庄，稽家庄庄主叫作稽耸，稽耸挽留文天祥住了三天，好酒好菜招待，文天祥一行得到了休整。</span></p><p style="line-height:2em;letter-spacing:2px;margin-bottom:15px;"><span style="font-size:16px;color:#000000;"> 三月十日，稽耸帮文天祥备足钱粮，换上可以烧饭、住宿的较大的船只，派儿子稽德润、馆客林愿学两带着随从，护送文天祥一行继续向东南方向前行。</span></p><p style="line-height:2em;letter-spacing:2px;margin-bottom:15px;"><span style="font-size:16px;color:#000000;"> 从稽庄到泰州，是水网地区。这一路还没有被元军侵占，又有稽家庄义军护送，心情终于放松下来。这时候，他们没有必要从小河绕远，沿官河驶向泰州是最便捷的选择。具体路线如下：小纪稽庄—小纪北汉—里华许庄、塔岳—港口伍子河—桑家湾—朱家庄—渔行—泰州，行程大约六七十里。</span></p><p style="text-align: center;"></p><p 说到伍子河，相传为春秋末期吴国大夫伍子胥所开，在今天港口集镇西边大约两里路，为东南、西北走向，南起港口桑家湾，北到刘庄村前大河，大约五六里路。伍子河西岸有一地方叫作“虾儿湾”，又称“虾子湾”，这里地处里下河，水产丰富，以青虾、银鱼最为出名，宋元时期这里是著名的“鱼市”，称为“卖鱼湾”。</span></p><p style="line-height:2em;letter-spacing:2px;margin-bottom:15px;"><span style="font-size:16px;color:#000000;"> 当时，文天祥的船儿一路向东南，走到港口伍子河畔虾儿湾时，听说虾儿湾的青虾很出名，肉嫩而肥，遂停船叫书童上岸买青虾，并写下了著名的《虾子湾》，这首诗又名《即事》。</span></p><p style="line-height:2em;letter-spacing:2px;margin-bottom:15px;"><span style="font-size:16px;color:#000000;"> 这时的文天祥胃口大开，暂时忘记了死里逃生的凄惨，享受着泰州人民的热情，享受着港口鱼虾的美味，享受着短暂的清闲。后来文天祥潜伏泰州城下十多天，从海陵出发之前，写过一首《纪闲》就是这种心情的反映：“九十春光好，周流人鬼关。人情轻似土，世路险于山。俯仰经行处，死生谈笑间。近时最难得，旬日海陵闲。”</span></p><p 如皋学者李实秋、徐爱军写过《文天祥过<过如皋>》一文，他们认为“虾儿湾”在如皋（当时如皋隶属泰州）地界。他们说道：“三月初十，载着文天祥的一叶小舟，沿窑子河驶入如皋境内，文天祥自以为已脱离险境，心情比较轻松了，当行到袁桥(今城北街道)北虾儿湾时，听说虾儿湾的青虾很出名，肉嫩而肥，遂停船叫书童上岸买青虾。并赋诗《虾子湾》一首”。这种说法在时间上明显是错误的。文天祥《发海陵》诗前有小序：“自三月十一日海陵登舟，连日候伴问占，苦不如意。会通州六校自维扬回，有弓箭可仗，遂以孤舟于二十一日早径发，十里，惊传马在塘湾，亟回。晚乃解缆，前途吉凶，未可知也。”这说明文天祥三月十一日才到泰州城下，潜伏十多天，三月二十一日从泰州出发向东至海安、如皋。所以说：三月十日文天祥所到“虾儿湾”一定是泰州市港口镇虾儿湾。</span></p><p style="line-height:2em;letter-spacing:2px;margin-bottom:15px;"><span style="font-size:16px;color:#000000;"> 文天祥经过港口虾儿湾，只是匆匆而过，给泰州人民留下了永远的怀念。笔者想起，2006年姜堰市曾设立“文天祥系舟处”来纪念这位伟大的爱国诗人，那么我们港口人要把纪念文丞相的石碑立在何处呢？据陈炳昌（1896-1971年）先生《港口竹枝词》记载：“宋文天祥相传经过此地，古名卖鱼湾，今呼虾儿湾，在港西北伍子河西”，但是它具体在哪里呢？我踏上自行车走街串巷，进行了多次寻访。</span></p><p style="line-height:2em;letter-spacing:2px;margin-bottom:15px;"><span style="font-size:16px;color:#000000;"> 2018年春天，我遇到泰州姜堰作家缪荣株先生，他在1984年担任港口镇党委书记，曾经带领江苏省音协主席石林、著名画家赵坚、泰州画家潘觐贵三位艺术家到龙溪港、伍子河、虾儿湾采风，并写成《三老当年在港口采风》一文。据缪老回忆，“虾儿湾”在港口脱水厂西边——即伍子河的南端，在港口西南坊，靠近桑家湾的新港小区附近。港口文史爱好者原港口镇司法科律师韩立富也持同样的观点。宋竹亮（原港南村支书）和陈林生两人在《华港印记》之《龙溪八景》一文写到：“十里荷香，东临上溪，北止下溪。由南向西便是虾儿湾和伍子河。”他们两人也是这种说法。</span></p><p 那么“虾儿湾”究竟是在港口西北坊，还是在港口西南坊？是陈炳昌先生记载有误，还是港口这些文史爱好者观点有误？我立即到附近的港南村询问了许多七八十岁的老农民，包括原港南村老干部宋祥和，结果没有人知道“虾儿湾”这个地方。我想，毕竟时间已经过去了好几百年，“虾儿湾”的具体位置也许难以确定，心中的失望和无奈渐渐增长起来……</span></p><p 同年夏天，我在港口西北坊走访遇到一个95岁的老人，名叫王焕文，耳聪目明，思维清晰。我问起港口有没有“虾儿湾”，他说“虾儿湾”不在伍子河南头，而是在港口西北坊，伍子河的西岸，原来是几块垎岸，早在五六十年前的“圪改”中被放低放平了。真是“踏破铁鞋无觅处，得来全不费工夫”。我立即骑车从港口西北坊大圩前往伍子河西岸，在最北头询问一个看鱼塘的老大爷，老大爷说，我们这里的一大片鱼塘叫作“尼姑滩”，虾儿湾听说可能在南边。我骑车向南前行，只见田野里空无一人，……但是，这一次我终于知道了“虾儿湾”的大体位置了。</span></p><p
